Be a Motivated Happy Person

For the past month or so I have been positively overwhelmed with wonderful guests; my amazing parents and my beautiful mother in law. Even though I intended to constantly write and post but well, I have been joyously busy. Which brings me to what I want to write about, surprisingly it is something I just realized today, just today, which is that even when everything is going perfectly and you are happy you still need motivation, more so than when you are bored and lazy.

When you are bored, upset or lazy you need to be motivated to accomplish something to be happy and satisfied, when you are happy however, you are already happy you do not need to be motivated to be motivated to accomplish something to be satisfied, which is the worst way to get off track. No matter what your goal is, you cannot be blind sighted by temporary happiness, you need to keep your eyes on the prize, being happy is good, but it is the ultimate goal we are after, the lasting happiness and satisfaction, short term happiness should not derail you from the ultimate goal of becoming better.

What I have realized is that being a happy motivated person is more effective than a motivated sad person, because happiness can fire up the passion in your heart, but do not let happiness stop you because when this jolly moment ends you are still there, stuck, still the you that you want to improve, except less motivated and less driven.

Be the Judge of You

As this Holy month started to end, I look at myself and wonder, has anything changed about me? have I become better? Worse? What is left to do? I wonder did I get a glimpse of the better me? or do I still have a long way to go? Unfortunately I do still have a long way to go to be where I want to be, but that does not scare me, because I know that somethings in me has changed, I know that I took the right steps towards my improved self, my upgrade download may be slow but I am getting there.

When I was younger I was always picked last when playing in teams, always sat alone in the lunch breaks, and the friends I had did not like me very much. Every summer my cousins used to all have fun together and leave me out, I realized I needed a major transformation, and I did, every summer I would have been a little bit better, until I started to become some of my cousins’  and aunts’ favourite and started having best friends in school, not only that, but I became the girl that parents would say “you should be more like her” about. That is where I needed to be and that is where I got and it felt fantastic!

I got there with my parents, brothers and my non-biological sisters’ support and by always taking a break of the fast spinning world and evaluating myself asking who, what and where am I? I had to be hard on the bad side of myself I had to observe me from far away, I had to take criticism like a champion and become better rather than defensive. However once I got there I forgot all about getting better, I forgot all about trying to improve and believe me there is always room for improvement, that spinning world swept me off my feet and made me spin and spin and then it threw me out in a dark place.

So as I am trying to get back on my feet I learnt you should never let yourself go without trying to become better, do not overlook your faults with the excuse that “you are human”, everyone can become better, always evaluate yourself, always be cautious about what you do, say and how you act, always be true to yourself and remember who you are, don’t get carried away and just because you are in a good place does not mean you should disregard the whole need to get better phase.

Take Charge to Happiness

We usually blame everything around us for the crap that happens to us, we constantly complain about how we hate our jobs, school, environment, the place we live in, our surroundings, anything or everything else. I know that because I did that, people and the circumstances around us may be horrible, we may be treated in the worst way possible and we might be in the roughest circumstances imagined, never the less there is always a way to get out of all the horrible in our lives.

All we need is to take charge. Take charge of your life, if you are being undermined, work harder to improve and prove yourself. You hate where you are then figure out something you love and do it until you can leave. You do not like the people around you, well they are not all bad, just find one person and stick to them. You hate your school, well everything comes to an end. You hate your job, either find another one or find a way to make it better.

I have been in all these situations and I still am in some, I keep blaming it on every single thing that I can think of, and yes they might be truly horrible and those things might be true, but we have to take charge. I remember when i was younger my brother used to always tell me that if you blame everything around you it does not prove that everything is bad it just proves that you are weak, and my God did I hate it when he said it, but nonetheless it was true.

Unless we enjoy being sad or addicted to feeling like a victim (which means we probably need therapy), then we need to do whatever it takes to be happy, take charge of your life don’t let people and circumstances dictate who you are and what you do, develop a thicker skin and upgrade yourself, let your self-actualization come from within and start being happy.

Ignite That Passion

In our low points in life it is a blessing to be able to dream and hope for those dreams to come true, it is an incredible feeling when you talk to someone or even think about how and who you want to be and what you want to do, just imaging that perfect picture ignites the passion inside, it motivates and makes you sleep at night with a million plans that would change your life.

Reaching a peek in an emotion like excitement can motivate you for a certain amount of time, it is up to you to keep the fire going. Knowing that one day you will reach that perfect image, that wonderful picture, because day after day you are heading towards it, day after day you are working for it, that is just phenomenal.

Before I started writing this article, I was chatting with my husband about how cluttered my brain has been and how I wanted to reorganize that brain of mine and improve my lifestyle, that created this magnificent and fascinating image in my head which sparked a spark of total and absolute excitement in my heart.

The thing is, having a dream becomes a nutritional source of happiness and motivation, and taking steps towards that dream nourishes our life making it not only tolerable but enjoyable, not only livable but exciting. Just imagine yourself walking down the street imagining the day you are exactly where you want to be, without noticing you will have a huge contagious smile on your face, It is a positive way of life, it is a delightful, enjoyable and dazzling.

To Be the Future You Acknowledge the Current You

In our subconscious mind we all want to improve ourselves we all want to become better and feel better. We all believe that one day we will become incredible human beings. Our parents wish that for us and they raise us with the expectation that one day we will accomplish what they could not. We tell ourselves everyday that we can be better and we will be better, I guess we sleep better through the night knowing that we will reach that goal one day.

My Blocked Stressed Brain

When you have no idea what to write about, you try to squeeze your brain with wise things to say, it is exactly like when someone dies and you are trying to comfort your friend, or when anything bad happens and you have no idea what to say to make it better, you try to squeeze every last bit of your brain to say something appropriate and not sound stupid, but it does not come out and you end up saying something stupid instead.

Head to The Light at the End of This Darkness

Do not dwell on what you do not have, do not look at what you are missing, do not stay hung up on what you lost, do not get stuck in the past that you cannot move forward, the thing is with getting stuck in the past, it is not just a metaphorical cliche, it is true, you keep wasting all your thoughts on what used to be and what could have been and you forget what you can be, and time goes by, and those who love you try to please you and you are never satisfied, you are just stuck. You are stuck and your energy every day is being wasted being stuck, not in today but in yesterday, and that is the easiest way to burn your life away.

Easy or Not So Hard- Take Action!

In my grade 5  computer class, we were learning programming with a program that had a turtle that drew our commands, so we had to write clear commands for the turtle otherwise as our teacher used to say “the turtle is as lazy as humans he will take the shortest/easiest way”. Back then I was very young and energetic,I kept thinking that humans are not lazy, I kept thinking “I do not like to take shortcuts!”. The older I got the more I realized that it is true, we are lazy by nature, we generally tend not to put an effort if we do not need to.

The Perfection in Imperfection

I remember when I was in high school, there was a quote floating around the web that said “If nobody is perfect then I am Nobody” , I have always felt bothered by this quote, I have always felt that confidence is key but, it’s cheesy to keep saying that you are perfect. I believe that feeling perfect, promotes arrogance and pomposity which is the least perfect of all. I am baffled by those who live in this world believing they are superior to others, when they have nothing to show for their superiority. It just strips every good thing from them and makes them ugly.

Murdered By Life then Revived Stronger

The more you live in this world, the more you learn. By living I do not mean the number of years you live, I mean the more you put yourself out there with your hands wide open embracing the bullets of unpleasant events that life shoots at you. You learn things that you would have never wanted to learn, you change and you learn, whatever the lesson is, wether it is strength, learning to trust people, the importance of positivity, faith.. etc. It changes the way you think, the way you act with people, your perspectives, your believes basically it changes who you are.
